Is anybody having unexplained vision problems?

I've been on the pill for a year now and before that, two years of the Depo-provera. I have had unexplained episodes of "zig zaggy" vision followed by a headache. These episodes occur about twice a month and cause me to lose focus and concentration. My Dr. says that these "episodes" are just migraines. I have decided that my health is more important than staying on hormonal birth control. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar side effects? Does anyone know if there are any consequences to expeiencing side effects like these(stroke, cerebral hemmorage?)
