When you get anxious it is very common to temporarily lose your appetite. Anxiety or fear can sometimes trigger your body's fight-or-flight response. Part of this reaction is a slowing of the digestive system as your body is rerouting its energies for action. However when people have chronic anxiety this system can be counter-productive resulting in problems like loss of appetite, nausea, stomach cramps, flatulence, diarrhea or even irritable bowel syndrome.

Fear of eating in public is a common fear of social phobia. The best way to conquer this phobia is to actually do the thing you are afraid of. The more you do it, the easier it gets. It is not easy but it is worth it to overcome the fear.

Best of luck,
