Zyprexa 2.5 mg withdrawal

I tried to withdraw from zyprexa 2.5 mg 4 times with no success. i felt horrible pain and iwas very tense for two weeks the last time i tried.

I am treated for depression with panic trouble (it has been 10 years now!). i also tak one seroplex 10 mg per day.

What can i do? what do you suggest?

Hi Hilia, You didn't say why

Hi Hilia,

You didn't say why you are trying to go off the Zyprexa. Have you discussed this with your doctor? I would never recommend trying to discontinue a medication without your doctor's okay and supervision, especially if you are experiencing significant withdrawal effects.

I do find it odd that you are being treated with Zyprexa if you've been diagnosed with depression and panic disorder. Granted, many antipsychotic medications are used "off label", but they have pretty significant side effects that must be considered before treating two disorders for which there are many other, more appropriate medications.

As for what I suggest? Talk to your doctor about why you are trying to go off the medication, and what to do about the pain you have experienced when you tried to do so.
