When you say that you are always tearing yourself down, I get the impression that you are your own harshest critic. Self loathing can result in self destructive behavior and poor decision making. So, step one will be to accept that you are not perfect and cut yourself some slack. Stop punishing yourself for your imperfections and mistakes. Choose to see mistakes as learning opportunities.

If you are so hard on yourself, it may also be that you are hard on others. A critical approach will certainly scare others away and result in burned bridges. So, if that is the case, then the next step is to choose to accept others and not get angry over the little things. You can decide that anger is not useful and eliminate it from your daily repertoire. Anger is like a strong spice and should only be used sparingly.

You didn't give me much to work with, so let me know if I am on the right track, and I can offer you more advice.

Best regards,
