The doctor wants to make sure you are not pregnant before giving you the shot, that is why they wait until you are having your period. However forcing a period under these circumstances seems strange and even stupid. I think you should get a second opinion from another doctor. Depo-Provera wil enter the breast milk.

>>I HAD A BABY 6 MONS AGO AND WAS NURSING. I HAVE STOPPED NURSING A MONTH AGO, BUT STILL HAVE NOT HAD A PERIOD. MY DOCOTOR SAID I HAD TO TAKE MEDICINE TO MAKE ME START MY PERIOD BEFORE SHE WOULD GIVE ME THE SHOT. WHY CAN'T I JUST TAKE A PREGNANCY TEST AND THE START THE SHOT?? MY DOCTOR DID NOT EXPAIN, SHE JUST SAID THAT'S HOW IT IS DONE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN REGULAR AND AM AFRAID THAT MESSING WITH ALL THESE HORMONES I WILL BLEED ALL THE TIME. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY I HAVE TO MAKE MY BODY SRATE MENSTRATING, AND NOT JUST TAKE THE SHOT AFTER A PREGNANCY TEST.
