I had been on the shot for about a year and decided to just stop taking it. I was gaining weight and had heard how many things go wrong.

Well, I have been off for 3 months and have not lost any weight... I did have a two day period, which is fine but...
My doctor says the weight from the Depo,shot could very well be permanent!
It has messed up my metabolism.
I have gained weight.
It does not protect from STD's.
It screws up your periods.
And I don't know about getting pregnant, because I am not trying to.
But no, I don't recommend this, I used to be 140-150 now I am 180 -190!
I said something about sueing them, but the nurse said she was sure some where in the paper I signed this side effect was listed.
