Hello,
I have been on Depo Provera for about six months now. I can efinitely say that I haven't felt that good since I started taking it. I'm not sure if Depo is the cause but I sure feel creeped out now that I've read everybody's messages. My major concern right now is back pain caused by the drug. I know I have the headaches and nausea but I suppose I "could" live with that but... I am 25 years old and have never had any problems with my back ever. Maybe a sore neck after a hard day at work but nothing that a massage wouldn't take care of. Anyway, about a month or a month and a half after my first injection, I woke up in the morning and my whole back was seized up. I thought that I had to have pulled something, I sure realized what other people are going through with back pain though. I went to my doctor because I was very concerned that it had something to do with the Depo. He said it couldn't be, yet with my research today only, I've seen that bckache is a documented side effect. Well, it's been six months now, I tried all the doctor's recommendations (board under the bed, nightime exercise, etc...) but I still get major back pains every night. I'm down to one position that actually doesn't hurt enough so that I can get into a "little" sleep. I have 20 days to decided if I should take my next Depo shot. I don't know what I'll do if I decide to stop. I already got pregnant with an IUD in (nice, hey? a 3 in 99 chance and I got it) but my body lost it naturally a day later. My doctor said that all the other things I've noticed like headaches, nausea, diarheaa, irregular spotting would go away after I had time to get used to it but I'm feeling quite nervous now after my research today. I really want to know if anyone else has had back pains due to Depo, or just strange random daily bone pains. Like one day, i woke up and my whole hand was seized like the bone was "crunched" or something. I get these random pains often, like in my wrists, knees, hips,etc... and recently my nightime back pain has been moving into one hip, which unfortuantely involves the only good sleep position I've got left. i don't know what to do, but I hope to get some answers soon from this if anyone wants to reply at this website or to my own e-mail address: [email protected] I feel like my back is going to break one day when I get out of bed, and I really want to know if it could be caused by the Depo. It seems very strange to me that I suudenly developed back pains yet I hadn't changed to a new bed, or been in a car accident, or anything that couod've legitimately caused this to begin.
