Hello all. I was on depro vera for a year. I did gain 10 pounds, but that was
probably because I was being lazy and not exercising on a regular basis. Also,
I am at that age where I went from college to a full time job sitting in front
of a computer, not getting the excersise I used to. I went off the depo in July
2001 for 3 months just to see what would happen. I excersised like crazy and
lost 8 pounds. My period returned after 3 months, but very heavy, and then I
got another shot last week. The only side effects I have had is a little weight
gain and a little loss of sexual drive (but that can be good). No periods are
great. Everyone is different. I recommend Depo Vera over the pill any day. You
gain weight with the pill too.
