I suffered a nervous tic and ritual type of ocd more. I once felt compelled to squeeze our pet hamster when I was young. I squashed it but thankefully let go. So I hope you don't mind me asking but what did you do with the cat? I have also had what people thought were epileptic fits in public owing to a strange discomfort I felt about my body. My ocd though is still diagnosed as mainly pure obsessions! Anyway to cut a long story short I switched to paroxetine (seroxat) about November 2000. About 4 months ago after the dose was gradually increased up to 60mg per day with the aim of getting it to 80mg! (this is a recommended dose by the manufacturere for ocd symptoms) I started to feel serene and pretty wonderful. This was not a sudden thing but now I am trying to find out more about how they work. I only mention this here in the hope that you can see some chance of recovery. I had the ocd since 10yrs old I am 42 now and it was diagnosed only one and a half years ago.

I hope this helps.
Kev
