My husband is sad all the time. We have a nice life, two healthy little sons, healthy sex life. Last year we bought a car he has always wanted, so he shouldn't miss anything and he agrees when asked about it. He worries about pedofils, work, traffic..

Just because someone has

Just because someone has everything he wants does not make him immune to the effects of depression. Major depressive disorder can be caused by a number of different things, including changes in life, stress, a loss, medical illness, or a chemical imbalance in the brain. Sometimes people become depressed for no apparent reason at all. Depression is a real disorder and should always be taken seriously. Depression can lead to disability (inability to work) or even suicide.

The best way to help your husband is to encourage him to seek professional help. Many different types of psychotherapy can be helpful for depression. There are also many good medications that he can try. You can get these from your family doctor or a psychiatrist.

Best of luck,
