Human beings were designed to enjoy sex. Without sexual intercourse, the species would not reproduce and we would become extinct. Additionally, sex is an important way that two people express affection for each other. There are a number of disorders that can cause someone not to desire sex. Hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD), is considered a disorder in which a person is not interested in sex. For it to be a disorder it must be interfering with your life in some important way, and it sounds like it is interfering with your relationship. There are other reasons however that people may not want sex. For example, a sexual assault can result in post traumatic stress disorder PTSD), where one symptom may be avoidance and fear surrounding sexual activities. This is probably one of the most common reasons people avoid sex.

Best of luck,
