Hi Rahulvaid, I am very sorry
Hi Rahulvaid,
I am very sorry that you are feeling depressed about your attraction to men. Sexual orientation is not something that therapy or medication is going to change. There is no treatment to make people straight if they are gay.
What I do recommed is that you find a therapist to work with who can help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and sexual orientation. Not everyone who is gay wants to be gay - for many different reasons (e.g. religious beliefs, fear of being bullied, fear of rejection by family and friends, etc.). And that is certainly understandable.
Therapy is your best bet to help with your depression and the conflicts you are feeling regarding your sexual orientation.
I hope you are able to find a therapist who can help you work through this. If your depression is severe, medication may also be necessary as part of treatment. It is a process though, so it is going to take some time to work through the underlying issues that are probably contributing to your depression and your concerns about being gay.
I hope this helps and I wish you the best!
Dr. Lane
