ELLE... read my last posting (an article by a very dear friend)... I can guarantee there is nothing "sinful" about you very godly body - which God did make and the pleasures that come from it... I am 21 and a very devoted Christian (avid bible reader too) but I always feel sorry for ppl who are so bound within the "old law", the "old tradition". It really is bondage, that the devil doesn't want you to feel the true freedom that Jesus brought when he cameand superceeded when the old law! (e.g: "For al the law is fulfilled in word even in this thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself") The rules and stipulations were not made to make our lives miserable , to the contrary to make our stay on this world all the more enjoyable. "Unto the pure all things are pure" is the way I feel about it. We know that if we indulge in any one paricular thing ecxessively it can be not only "sinful" but also harmful to our bodiesie: over eating execissive drinking. If our bodt is supposed to be the temple of God an we are therefore supposed to do all we can to take care of it., how can a natural tension releasing wonderful feeling procedure be wrong? As the apostle Paul said " if for meat some may stumble... then i will not eat it..." well likewise if my thoughts on the matter would cause sme fragile soul to doubt my salvation then I will refrain from stumbling that individual, but i will remain firm in my conviction "according to your faith be it unto you". :)(what sOever is not of FAITH is sin)
>>I'm 21 and in a committed relationship with my boyfriend for 4 years now. It's definitely a challenge to remain abstinent at times but it is true that all other parts of a relationship become enhanced and nurtured. Abstinence is my choice of birth control and it always has been. I can always be confident that a late period doesn't equal possible pregnancy and it's certainly less nerve wracking! =) Masturbation helps relieve the tension and although I believe it's psychologically healthy to do it, a small part of me still feels guilty and sinful about it. Argh. >>I've been considering having sex more seriously and questioning the whole waiting for marriage concept. The act of sex isn't a sin and God doesn't want us to abuse our sexuality or have sex outside marriage. But in today's society where people are in loving, monogamous but unmarried relationships, is it such a terrible thing to "break the rules"?
>>Your thoughts?
