This summer I started experiencing a lot of bleeding problems. My doctor took me off the shot and put me on the pills to help stop the bleeding when that didn't work they decided to put me back on the shot. I went in on 8-27-00 to have a pregnancy test done and it came back "weak" so they did a blood test and that showed a negative pregnancy. On 8-28-00 I recieved the depo shot. Then 8 weeks later I started having symptoms like I was pregnant. Nausea, weight gain, breast tenderness etc. I went back in and was advised by my doctor that I was 8 weeks pregnant. THis means I was pregnant when I recieved the shot.
I switched doctors and have been closely monitored by another doctor. The uncertantity of what the effect the depo shot has on my unborn child is very frightening. I can only pray that this child will be okay.
Getting pregnant on the depo shot is very unlikely, most doctors that I have talked to agree on that aspect. So far my body has not rejected this pregnancy, which is still a possibility. I have two children already and thought that 9 months was a long time. This time it feels like an eternity.
