I decided to use Depo back in 1995. I got the shot twice but then decided it wasn't for me. I experienced severe mood swings, depression, weight gain and a loss of my period which was in a way very nice but really kind of scary. We're supposed to have our period so it didn't seem healthy to not have it anymore. It took me a full year and a half after taking the last shot for my period to come back and even then it was not normal. It would last a full 10 days and then stop for about a week and then come back again. This went on for four months. Year's later, I'm on the pill and everything seems to be back to normal (except the weight gain never went away) but I still worry what kind of damage has been done. I'm not ready for kids yet but I do worry that depo may have caused some damage. Hopefully I'm wrong and everything's fine. Everyone I know who has taken Depo-Provera has had similar side effects and similar concerns. I have no interest in being involved in the lawsuit, just wanted to share my experince with you.
