>>I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly how the rhythm birth control method works. When is the better time to have sex, before or after having your period? Also, how soon after having unprotected sex can I take a pregnancy test (the soonest possible time) that will give me accurate results? My bf and I had unprotected sex a day or two after my period and we don't want to wait the whole month to find out whether or not we're in trouble (we both come from very deeply religious Catholic families). Please reply soon.

This method works by avoiding sex on the days a woman is fertile. Ovulation usually occurs on the 14th day after the first day of your period. Avoiding sex around that time will decrease the chances of conception. However, not all women ovulate exactly on day 14 so this method does not always work. See the page at this guide on Natural Method for more info. There are many better methods.

You can take a pregnancy test as soon as your period is late or as soon as 10-14
days after conception. No test is accurate earlier than that (sorry).
