lingering food odors will actually make me have anxiety, until I remove them the best I can. i cant even sleep if i contiue to smell it.
can you tell me if this is considerd a ocd?
Whether or not this is related to OCD depends on what kind of experience you have when you smell the odors. Does the smell remind you of something that causes anxiety? For example is it along the lines of say when you smell hairspray do you worry it might be a pesticide?
Or conversely is it a disgust reaction? Do you feel physically repulsed? If so, while this causes anxiety this is not OCD but it can still be treated in a way similar to OCD. However, when treating disgust with CBT, the treatment usually takes a little bit longer.
