Veronica and Elle, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. We do things like that when we don't have full satisfaction in Jesus Christ. Yes we still have the lust of the flesh, but there is nothing in the Bible that backs masturbation up. Read Romans. God did not make us to be lovers of our own selves or to be focused on our own selves. He is our focus. You are fighting a battle inside and you can overcome it. Also doesn't the bible say it's better to get married than burn in lust? Elle get married! You feel guilty for a reason. It's the conviction of God. We do not want to allow an entry way for sin.

>>I'm 21 and in a committed relationship with my boyfriend for 4 years now. It's definitely a challenge to remain abstinent at times but it is true that all other parts of a relationship become enhanced and nurtured. Abstinence is my choice of birth control and it always has been. I can always be confident that a late period doesn't equal possible pregnancy and it's certainly less nerve wracking! =) Masturbation helps relieve the tension and although I believe it's psychologically healthy to do it, a small part of me still feels guilty and sinful about it. Argh.

>>I've been considering having sex more seriously and questioning the whole waiting for marriage concept. The act of sex isn't a sin and God doesn't want us to abuse our sexuality or have sex outside marriage. But in today's society where people are in loving, monogamous but unmarried relationships, is it such a terrible thing to "break the rules"?

>>Your thoughts?
